Hello,
I am trying to understand this output from our 3750 stack:
host#sh buffer
Buffer elements:
7561 in free list (500 max allowed)
670527665 hits, 0 misses, 7524 created
Question 1: what are the buffer "elements" referring to? I understand the different buffer pools, their size, and interpreting the output; but what does the "elements" refer to?
Question 2: Looking online, all the references indicate this should not be above 500. Is this an indication the pool has not been trimmed? Is this a bug?
Question 3: I have found OID values for all the buffer sizes except for Very Big buffers. Anybody had any success with SNMP monitoring of this pool?
Question 4: Is there any SNMP OIDs for monitoring the interface buffers? I would like to monitor the number of fallbacks as well as misses on the interface for a could devices, but can't seem to locate any info.
Thanks in advance for your input!
