HI,

I have a WS-C3750G-12S-S and want to upgrade it by ordering CD-3750G-EMI=.

now when i enter "show ver" command it shows model information as "WS-C3750G-12S-S" my question is that after upgarding it to enhanced version will that command show model information as WS-C3750G-12S-E ? i am sure that upgarding the IOS image will not change that information which burned in Flash/EEPROM of the switch.

Thanks,

Saeed Zamani.

Hi Saeed,

When you upgrade the license from Standard to Enhanced, your switch should respond with an "E" suffix.

Hi,

i copy output of show version command here , you see it still shows model number as 12S-S , even in ROMMON there is a set command that you can change model number, i did that and at booting time it shows 12S-E but after boot, show version shows 12S-S again.

Hi Con,

Haven't heard from you for awhile.

I made a mistake. The model name "S" or "E" will only appear when you make an order fresh from a factory. So if you upgrade from "S" to "E" with a license, the model name will remail.

This is true when you upgrade from Wireless Access Point Autonomous IOS to LWAP (and vice versa). The model will still be the same.
