3750 stack swap out 24 port to 48 port

I need to swap out a 24 port 3750 in the centre of a stack and upgrade to a 48 port unit.

If I set the correct switch number and ensure that the IOS is the same as the existing, will the stack just add in the additional 24 ports as unconfigured?

Do a "sh running-config" and in the first 10 or 12 lines or so, you'll see something like "switch X provisioning WS-C3750G-24PS" (if your switch is a C3750G-24PS). Edit this to the model of your switch you want to put in, for example, WS-C3750G-48PS, and even before you put your switch in, you'll see that you can now provision this in your config.
