3750G IP HTTP secured-server. Access only to "express setup"

MARC MONTANARI

I have a stack of 3750G composed of one 3750G-12S-S and two 3750G-48-TS-S.

I have defined access to the IP HTTP Secured server (HTTPS) and the access itself seems to work fine, since I reach the first pages.

Unhopefully, I obtain only the "Express Setup" pages with only 2 Tabs "basic" and "advanced" from which I can only configure some general parameters.

I would like to have the pages I was used to, I mean at least pages enabling port configuration and monitoring.

Is there something missing in my configuration to have full access to all pages ?

this is my configuration :

no ip http server

ip http secure-server

ip http authentication local

username myuser privilege 15 password mypassword

The switch IOS version is : 12.2(55)SE3

thx

Marc

Hi,

If i understand correctly, you are trying to access the switch through web GUI and you are observing some of the tabs are not there.

Are you using a .tar image? Could you please share the show version output from the switch which is in question?

I have mentioned below the links for configuring web authentication & startup guide for your reference.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750/software/release/12.2_55_se/configuration/guide/swwebauth.html

Hope this helps

Thanks for your answer. The final solution is explianed at the bottom of this discussion and was because of the IOS version. a special limited version for switches with only 16MB of Flash memory, contains Device Mgr Express Setup files only.

After you complete Express Setup and install the  switch in your network, you need to use the device manager or other management  options for further configuration.

The simplest way to do this is by using  the device manager that is in the switch memory. This is an easy-to-use  web interface that offers quick configuration and monitoring. You can  access the device manager from anywhere in your network through a web  browser. This can be used for performing basic switch configuration and monitoring.

After investigation, I have a 3750G switch with a 16MB Flash memory. For this type of 3750G, Cisco has released

a limited IP BASE IOS, as can be read hereunder in the release notes of the 12.2(55)SE3 =

c3750-ipbasek9-tar.122-55.SE1.tar =

also runs on the Cisco EtherSwitch service modules.

c3750-ipbaselmk9-tar.122-55.SE1.tar =

Catalyst 3750 IP base cryptographic image with device manager Express Setup

files only. This image is intended for switches that have a 16M flash size.

It seems that my switch is running this second IOS and this is why i'm limited to "Express Setup" pages only.

Once the switch is configured, when trying to reach Device Mgr, I'm directed to the Express Setup page again.

Thx. Marc.
