3750x Hangs on Boot

All,

Need some help please, I have a 3750x that hangs on boot.

Status LED blinks amber for 30 secs or so, turns green and then hangs at this point......

Using driver version 1 for media type 2
Base ethernet MAC Address: 2c:54:2d:9b:94:80
Xmodem file system is available.
The password-recovery mechanism is enabled.

makes no difference how long it is left, does not boot.

I have also tried holding down the mode button during boot, no difference.

I think the flash is corrupt.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I also have a 3750-E exhibiting this behavior. I can also get into rommon and boot the switch manually. However, it will not boot without intervention.

Has anyone come up with a DIY fix?

Appreciate any assistance!

I never got anywhere with it. Mine isn't under contract so no RMA or anything.

I'm in the same boat, no support contract.

Thanks for following up, this was a pretty old thread..

Is the boot image specified?

sometimes when you have the wrong boot path specified it will exhibit this behaviour.....

Can you do a show boot after it boots up?

I might be wrong.... :)

on mine

I had the same issue and it was worst because the switch was not able to initialize the flash even:
switch: flash_init
Initializing Flash...
mifs[2]: filesystem check interrupted!
...done Initializing Flash.

switch: dir flash
unable to stat flash/: no such device

I thought that the flash was damaged. But I managed to recover "express_setup.debug" from the other stack switch and it was a  Mode button issue:

2d14h Express Setup: Mode botton held 2 seconds.
2d14h Express Setup: Mode button was held for 2 sec on switch 1
2d14h Express Setup: Mode button was held for 2 sec on switch 1
2d14h Express Setup: Switch is being reset now

The mode button was pressed all the time because the front panel with the lights was damaged somehow.  I managed to use an old switch as a donor and replace the whole PCB with the button and the front panel. After starting switch boot sequence finished properly.

Using the switch 1 day already. Still monitoring.
