3850 switch - IOS XE upgrade Detailed (standalone)

Hi All. I have upgraded a Cisco 3850 switch(Stand alone) to 16.3.6 version.

After copied the image into switch flash, I have changed the boot variable to 16.3.6(New image).

But When I do reload the switch, I lost the remote session for that switch. But switch is not physically down and it is locally reachable. What is the reason to lost the remote access for that switch.

Kindly help to understand on this issue.

Thank you...

How do you know that its locally reachable? Are you using ping only. Do you
use SSH or Telnet? If SSH, you might need to generate new RSA key hence not
able to SSH.

Without information I don't think we can give much help.

Anyway, if its reachable locally ask someone to hook console cable and give
you remote console

Hello Baqari..

Thank you for your response on this. switch is reachable locally(I can login through one of the router at site and did SSH to the switch hence it is reachable). But need to know is why the switch is not pinging remotely ? Appreciate if you provide some inputs on this. Please let me know if you need any additional information on this.

Thank you...
