Hi all,
I currently have 4 3850's as a stack and want to add a 5th. I am not on site and am consoled in remotely the new switch IOS is Version 03.07.03E and the main stack is Version 03.06.05E .
If I add the new switch to the stack will the master push the IOS down. Or will it cause issues?
I changed the new switches priority as 5 but it is not linked to our core so I cant upload the correct IOS.

If it was connected to the stack would it disrupt the other devices.
If done correctly, no there would no impact.
When adding this switch to the stack, make sure the unit is POWERED OFF first before connecting the stacking cable.
If the unit is powered up and the stacking cable gets connected, the entire stack will reboot. This is not a bug but is designed intentionally.

You can downgrade the IOS-XE of the new switch, before shipping it out, if the hardware supports it.

Issue is it was a replacement switch and already sent to the site and racked it is connected via console via the cyclaid so I could update the priority but it has no connection.
