Hi, I have a 3850 switch with a USB slot on the front that I want to use for a code upgrade. With nothing plugged into the front USB drive slot, I do a dir usbflash0: and it lists files? How can that be if nothing is inserted. A show usbflash0: shows nothing. When I plug a 2 gb USB (FAT16) stick in the drive, the same results. I see files from somewhere but not from my USB drive. So the front USB slot is not reading my drive. If I issue a Dir command it returns directory of usflash0: so that must be the front usb slot. I can see a log message when I insert and remove the usbflash drive on the console. Thank you.

what files is it listing when its not plugged in , are they from flash or where ?
sounds like bug anyway , that's not normal if that's what's happening , you can see usb files when theres nothing connected to it ...
what version code are you on

that looks like its reading the system files , personally if it was my switch I would upgrade off the version that's not right , if its still doing that after I would speak to TAC maybe get it RMA if there is something up the hardware
