Hello, I have loaded a 4500x VSS pair with a new image and set the new image in bootflash and slavebootflash and set the boot statement "boot system flash...."
I would like NOT to use ISSU and do a standard service-impacting reload. What is the process? Do i just go into the switch and reload?

Hi,
To reset both the VSS active and standby switch, use the following command.
redundancy reload shelf

Thank you.
If I want to set a timer on the reload, will it reload the whole shelf also? It does not say..
reload at hh:mm month day.... and that's it.

"redundancy reload shelf" command does not have a timer associated with. Once you issue the command, both switches will reboot right away.

Ok. Now I'm curious to see what the reload at hh:mm month day command does...

You can do that but that only reboot the switch you are on (active switch) and not both chassis.
