Hi everyone
I was doing some research on the Nexus 5000 as I would implement it in one project and I found one thing here regarding the 5548UP which by name should support Unified port within the 32 1/10G fixed SFP+ port as already mentioned in the following links:
Compare Models:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps9670/prod_models_comparison.html
Cisco Nexus 5548UP Switch
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps11681/index.html
but here under Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Hardware Installation Guide it says it would Support SFP+ Ethernet and FCOE and there is no mention of Native FC except if we consider the expansion moudule.
here what is mentioned for both "
The Cisco Nexus 5548UP switch is a 10-Gigabit Ethernet and FCoE switch that offers up to 960-Gbps throughput and up to 48 ports. The switch has 32 fixed 1- or 10-Gbps SFP+ Ethernet and FCoE ports and one expansion slot. The expansion slot supports GEMs that offer 16 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports, eight 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports and eight 10-Gigabit FCoE ports, or 16 10-Gigabit Ethernet/FCoE ports. This switch has an orange lable with "Cisco Nexus 5548UP" above the Cisco logo on the front of the chassis.
The Cisco Nexus 5548P switch is a 10-Gigabit Ethernet switch that offers up to 960-Gbps throughput and up to 48 ports. The switch has 32 fixed 1- or 10-Gbps SFP+ Ethernet and FCoE ports and one expansion slot. The expansion slot supports GEMs that offer 16 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports or eight 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports and eight 10-Gigabit FCoE ports. This switch has a gray label with "Cisco Nexus 5548P" above the Cisco logo on the front of the chassis. "
So have I miss anything here or the Installation Guide is missing the word FC within the 5548UP to complete the description"?

Hi,
As long as your switch is 5548UP, it will support FC. I have used it and it works. It is just probably missing it in the installation guide.
