6504 not allowing remote connections via ssh on vty

I have a strange issue.  I have 2 new 6504E running 15.1(2)SY6 that I have configured with our default baseline and am unable to ssh into either of them from a desktop client.  They work with our solarwinds box and ssh from another switch but not from securecrt clients.  I have turned debugging on and the device does not even see the securecrt cleints on attempts it just timeouts.  Anyone have ideas?  

I have total reset and started over on one of the switches 3 or 4 times and even tested the configuration on a 3750 and it works fine.

Is there a way you can check if ssh is possible from another node in the network? (Not desktop client).

In this thread (https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12006541/brand-new-2960x-and-2960xr-not-responding-cli-commands) people are having problems connecting to "newer" switches when using SecureCRT.

Have you tried another program (i.e. putty, minicom, teraterm)?
