6509 and 4506E IOS upgrade

Hi experts,

we have 6509 and 4506 switches and i need to upgrade them to latest IOS Please suggest me best IOS and upgrade procedure in VSS

6509 detail:

Supervisor Engine 720 10GE

Current IOS: sup-bootdisk:s72033-ipbase-mz.122-33.SXI2a.bin

4506 detail:

Sup 8-E 10GE

Current IOS: bootflash:cat4500es8-universalk9.SPA.03.06.03.E.152-2.E3.bin

1. Copy the IOS into the bootflash:
2. Check and compare MD5 hash
3. Change boot variable string
4. Check config-registry value
5. Save config
6. Reboot

can you suggest IOS for both switches and what is the procedure to upgrade in VSS

we have both 6500 and 4500 in VSS

Read the Release Notes. 

Pay close attention to Sup8E requires a ROMmon upgrade or not.  Detailed instructions are included in the Release Notes.

I am not going to, especially for chassis-based systems, recommend what IOS version(s) because I don't know what is the nature of the network.
