6509 Power Redundancy-Mode Combined / Redundant Question(s)

Hello... I recently replaced the old power supplies in our 6509 with two 6000w power supplies. The switch was previously running (and had to be running) in power redundancy-mode combined with the old PS's installed. Now, with the new PS's in, I am unable to issue the "no power redundancy-mode combined" command and I'm not sure why. I was thinking, maybe I can simply enter "power redundancy-mode redundant" though even with this, I'm not positive. My questions are, why can I not remove the old command? Would running the other command correct the issue? Would changing the mode cause any kind of power interruption? (this switch is in our production environment.) Based on the output of the "show power" command, it's "technically" redundant because if one goes down, there seems to be enough juice to keep the switch going... but I just want to confirm.

Hi,

According to the config guide, you can change the mode from combined to redundant by adding:

"power redundancy-mode redundant"

But I would not run the command during production hours even though it supposed to work since the PSUs are redundant and one can power up the chassis without the other one. If you really want to change this, do it in a maintenance window just in case something goes wrong.
