Hi,
I am having a 7206VXR router with NPE-300.To rectify bus error I just replaced the NPE-300 card. But now the router is not booting from flash. The router is hanging while booting and we can manually boot from rommon. What could be the issue ?
Thank you
Peter

The 2 things to check would be the config register , should be 0x2102 . Also if you changed the supervisor look at your boot statements and make sure the boot statements point to where the actual IOS is located and that the names match exactly.

Hi,
The config register is 0x2102 and the boot system command is configured with actual IOS.
Could this be a I/O controller issue ? When the router is booting it is displaying
System Bootstrap, Version 12.2(1r) [dchih 1r], RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Copyright (c) 2001 by cisco Systems, Inc.
C7200 platform with 131072 Kbytes of main memory.
After that it is not booting. Booting can be done manually through rommon.
The NPE is replaced recently. So do the boot image needs to be upgarded ?
Thank you,
Peter
