Bill,

This command should not be used without knowledge of the problem that is being corrected.  If you see high CPU on the RP of a SUP720 or an RSP720 there is a problem that needs to be addressed.  It is generally an issue with a certain type of packet passing over the device that requires punting, and the best thing to do in a situation like this is to get a case opened with the TAC to determine what that traffic is and why it is being punted.

HI All!

We have the same problem:

Two boxes with the Cisco 7604, RSP720-3CXL + and some cfc line cards.

At the both boxes cpu load interrupts grows to 80-90%, and "clear cef linecard" command help for a some time.

As the workaround we are using the command:

"remote command switch test mls cef tcam-shadow off".

Also we use the eem script witch applying this commad after the reboot.

We opened an SR 617598837(Bug CSCtn98149) to TAC, but by the TAC said that this is hardware problem.

But as I can see at this forum there is some other users with the same issue.

Looks like we all have the same software problem?

Hello Evgenyzhur,

we are also open case in cisco TAC on this problem since 29.03.2013.

The problem is not solved yet.

We had WebEX session with the IOS developers, but the result still sad.

Hi Alexandr!

Can you please notify me about results of the your case by this problem? May be in the private message.

Thank you in advance.
