Hi All ,
We are having a set up like ME3400 SW ---------7606-S --------------ME3400 SW
In this network i had created a int vlan with same range of IP address in both ME 3400 switch ( VLAN 20 with 10.0.0.0/30 )
In 7606 device I configured subinterface with VLAN 20 on both the ports and the VLAN is created globally .I can able to assign same VLAN ID to different sub-interface in 7606 but I can,t able to ping from one 3400 SW to another.
Is this design is valid.Pleae help.
thanks,
Arun Mohan

Arun,
It could be that STP is blocking the port but not sure just assumption.
Kindly let us know the following thing:
1- Please provide brief summary of what you are trying to achieve ?
2- Make sure the ports are trunk and they are e not pruned and not blocked by stp
3- Whats the status of vlan interface? Were exactly is it failing? Doe 7600 router able to ping the Me 3400 respectively ?
regards

STP instance is not running for that VLAN.In this set up 7606 act as a L2 device so no IP is configured on 7606
R1#sh spanning-tree vlan 20
Spanning tree instance(s) for vlan 20 does not exist.

Arun,
I dont see the vlan 20 been allowed on the trunk link of R1 router. Please make sure you add teh vlan 20 then everything should be good.
