Hello,

I have on my access switches (WS-C2960X-48LPD-L ) configured 802.1x authentication, but printers are authenticated over MAB and I would like authentication over certificate or username.

this is how the 802.1x settings on printers looks:

8021x.JPG

This is the configuration of ports on the switch:

switchport access vlan 803
switchport mode access
switchport nonegotiate
switchport voice vlan 20
authentication host-mode multi-domain
authentication order dot1x mab webauth
authentication priority dot1x mab webauth
authentication port-control auto
authentication violation replace
authentication fallback WEB_AUTH_PROFILE
mab
dot1x pae authenticator
dot1x timeout tx-period 2
dot1x max-req 10
spanning-tree portfast

Is it possible ? Have anyone experience with 802.1x on printers ?

Thanks

 - In most cases this will not be possible because printers usually don't have supplicants which can provide the data you want them to authorize with. There may be brands  which can do this, I do not know of any of them myself.
