9200 downtime when stack master fails

Hi,

While doing ATP for a new network, I have noticed that when the master fails in a 2 switches stack (9200 switches)

I am having 4.2 seconds packet loss.

I am wondering if this duration is acceptable (I think it is too long) and if there is some documentation that can give me the expected result for that kind of failure.

Regards,

Alon.

Hi,

Are the switches layer-2 or layer-3? Usually, we layer-3, the fail-over takes a little longer. Have a look at modifying

stack-mac persistent timer parameters and test again.

Thank you for your reply.

The switch is Layer 2 only.
