We have noticed somewhat of a discrepancy between the datasheet maximum temperature values for the 9200cx switches and what shows up in the CLI. So, we are trying to find something more definitive on the maximum temperature and at what temperature the switch will shutoff to protect itself(as stated in the 9200cx white paper).
The 9200 datasheet basically lists all maximum temps as:
Normal operating temperature* and altitudes:

- The datasheet should probably be considered authoritative ; the problem being that the CLI 'comes from the OS' and
may not always make sufficient differences between models ,

Hello @stephen.neal ,
the show environment temperature output provides you the reading of the thermal sensors inside the switch.
49 Celsius degrees measured in the inlet ,
And another reading for the hotspot.
The datasheet provides you info about the temperature range of the room where you place the switch.
-5 to 40 degrees celsius is the external temperature in the room.
The switch inside is more hot then the external environment.
Hope to help
