Hi Everyone.
I am using a new 9200l series switch for education and other things.
At first start up after an erase startup-configuration I get asked the question
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--- System Configuration Dialog ---
Would you like to enter the initial configuration dialog? [yes/no]: n
The enable secret is a password used to protect
access to privileged EXEC and configuration modes.
This password, after entered, becomes encrypted in
the configuration.
-------------------------------------------------
secret should be of minimum 10 characters and maximum 32 characters with
at least 1 upper case, 1 lower case, 1 digit and
should not contain [cisco]
-------------------------------------------------
Enter enable secret: ***********
Confirm enable secret: ************
The following configuration command script was created:
enable secret 9 $9$/aCoQe1.zvJ4ik$6IPvxU1bszsYd/GZF/tRa1wTHQ/9UPpFWRZM6vTy.ww
!
end
[0] Go to the IOS command prompt without saving this config.
[1] Return back to the setup without saving this config.
[2] Save this configuration to nvram and exit.
Enter your selection [2]: 0
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a pain in the backside older switches just went to the switch prompt but not these.
Is there a way to stop this behaviour. or is there another IOS like one from a 9300 series switch.
Cheers

"You can exit (Ctrl-C ) the System Configuration Dialog and return to privileged EXEC mode without making changes and without going through the entire dialog. If you exit the dialog but want to continue with setup, you can issue the setup command in privileged EXEC mode. "

Hi Flavio,
Thank you for your reply. andI will try that for in person use this will work.
However I have these switchs in a netlab setup and the automation on start for the lab will not allow for keyboard input.
so I would like to know how to stop the switch from asking for a password on start and just behave like an old 3560 switch used to and go straight to enable mode.

you can set the config-register to 0x2102 and relaod the switch.
