A power supply for infrared devices like the IE2000

Hi there,
Do Cisco IE2000's two DC inputs need to be connected to the same power supply? Despite not being fully redundant, DC-A and DC-B are powered by separate internal power supplies. Therefore, DC-A and DC-B could be powered by the same external power supply... It is very kind of you to respond to me. There are two separate units that make up the power supply. Switches can be powered by one or two sources. Both power sources draw power from each other when both sources are active and the higher voltage power source is on. As long as another power source is available, the switch remains powered during a power outage. In redundant power systems, each power supply should be connected to an independent power source. An electrical fault in the wiring or a circuit breaker trip might result in a total power outage if you fail to do this.

No, the IE2000 wil work totally fine on a single power supply

that is correct , when connecting to the same power source to both inputs,
you have ample more redundancy then when using a double wire between the same input and the same power source
