We recently had a failure on Catalyst 9300-24t and for about half a day after the failure the timestamps in the show log were as follows. What is the reason for this with a period before the month?

Before the outage
-----
Apr 2 09:56:49.719 JST: <log message>

Before the outage
-----
. Apr 2 11:57:34.515 JST: <log message>

Totally check NTP association detail , the time is out of sync with the NTP server totally.

The "." before the date means the switch has NTP server configured but cannot synchronize the time and date with the NTP server.

Thank you!
I underdstand.

BTW, some Cisco devices have an on-board calendar that you can configure to sync with NTP.  So, when you lose NTP sync, device time is still somewhat accurate.
