Access issue of cisco 2811 router

Hi Dear,

I not able to access cisco 2811 router (AC operated)  through console port when I try to access it by selecting COM Port, but I  able to access by selecting the TCP/IP option.

Please assist to solve this problem.

Ok, can you describe what you mean by "not able to access"?

Do you see garbage characters?

Use these terminal settings:

  • 9600 baud rate
  • No parity
  • 8 data bits
  • 1 stop bit
  • No flow control

No, its not showing any garbage character, ''Not able to access" means after selecting the appropriate value in hyper terminal & then click OK & after that when I press ‘Enter’ key its not coming anything on the display.

Are you sure your console cable is plugged correctly?  The DB end is towards the serial port of your client and the RJ45 is connected to the CONSOLE or Management port of the 2811 router?
