Dear all,

I have some strange issue inside my LAN, and it summarizes as following:

Some inside PCs can access outside url: http://www.egypt.hsbc.com and some other PCs can't open this same url.

Appreciate for your help.

Hi EBIC

There is not enough information here to help.

What device are you using on the edge?

Do the hosts use a proxy?

Where are the DNS servers and are they contactable from the non working servers / can it resolve the URL.

Check the default gateway on all hosts?

From the hosts that work, ping the url or do a host lookup and get the IP address, then try to connect to the website via the IP on the hosts that do not work to rule out DNS.

using switches 3560 as edges and connected together to core 3750 switch.

No proxy at all in our LAN.

DNS servers are same inside our LAN and contactable with all PC.

All PCs are with same gateway which is the main switch 3750.

How about connecting to the site using the IP address instead of the URL?

Can the hosts than cannot connect to that URL connect to other URL's. If not are you using ACL's for the outbound access and do you see hits for the flows that are failing?

same done if i am connecting to the site using the IP address instead of the URL.

Hosts than cannot connect to that URL connect normally to any other URL's.
