Does Cisco provide Access Switch with 40G uplinks? Can 6807 be used in this scenario?

Can 6807 be used in this scenario?
Yes but it also depends on the following factors:
1. Budget;
2. Number of 40 Gbps uplinks required;
3. Supervisor card model;
4. Line cards

Leo, my customer's only demand is that the uplink should be 40G and the total price should be cost effective.
Is there any other switch that is more cost effective than 6807 with 40G uplinks?
Also is there any option of adding POE line cards to 6807?
Our customer's requirements for access switch are:
*support distributed switching architecture
*The Access switches to core switching block Uplinks should be 40Gbps redundant active.
* support 6 line card slots.
* shall support 128Gbps bandwidth per slot
* support high switching capacity of at least 2 Tbit/s non-blocking multilayer switching

Depends on how many 40 Gbps uplink(s) is/are required? One? Two? 10?

Yes and no. The 6807 itself does NOT have PoE line card, however, the 6807 can support 6800IA switch model which do support PoE/PoE+. Be aware that Instant Access switch, currently, requires the parent switch be on a VSS.

Ok, 2 x 40 Gbps uplinks required. A starting candidate would be C6824-X-LE-40G.
How many SFP/SFP+ is/are needed?

Hi Leo,
Is C6824-X-LE-40G is a chassis or a line card? The link you posted says chassis.
Thanks,
Reza

Both. 6840 is based on the Sup2T. Under the 6840 there are several "port densities". 6824 means it's a 24 port SFP/SFP+ with two 40 Gbps. Each 40 Gbps can further be broken down by four SFP+ (only).
However, since Sup2T can support only up to 220 Gbps per slot on a 6500E chassis, the same goes with the 6840-series switches. There will be oversubscription.
