I have seen companies hook all their cisco devices in a rack and they are connected to some other device via the console and you can just ssh to that device and it gives you an option to select what device you want to connect to any ides how to set this up.

Roberto,
The device you are explaing is a terminal server.
This provides out of band access via async/serial coonection to
the consoles on the lan switches/routers in the rack.
A common device now could be a 1921 with an HWIC-8A installed
in its wan slot.
