Hi,
I have a newly deployed Cisco 2911 router and I can't figure out which license to activate so that I can enable MPLS on the router. I think the datak9 license is required, but in investigating via the CLI, I can't figure out what we need to do. Here's what I get when I do a "show ver":
Technology Package License Information for Module:'c2900'
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Technology Technology-package Technology-package
Current Type Next reboot
------------------------------------------------------------------
ipbase ipbasek9 Permanent ipbasek9
security securityk9 Permanent securityk9
uc None None None
data None None datak9
Looking at that, it appears that my datak9 package will be activated at next reboot. When I do a "show license", I see the following for the datak9 license:
Index 4 Feature: datak9
Period left: 8 weeks 4 days
Period Used: 0 minute 0 second
License Type: EvalRightToUse
License State: Active, Not in Use, EULA accepted
License Count: Non-Counted
License Priority: Low
I also have the following configured:
license udi pid CISCO2911/K9 sn XXXXXXXXXX
license accept end user agreement
license boot module c2900 technology-package datak9
Can anyone confirm what will happen if I reboot the router? Will the datak9 package be activated? Will that allow me to enable MPLS? Will the license be permanent, or does it eventually expire?
In case anyone from Cisco sees this - I find this licensing system unbelievably confusing and frustrating. I've found specific documents online that are supposed to explain it, and it's still unintelligible.
Thanks for for any feedback...
