I have 3 line cards in my Cisco WS-4506-E switch.
I want to add a 4th. I'm not in front of the device at this time. Will need to make a trip.
But I don't recall seeing any free physical space in my switch for more cards.
The documentation says I can have up to 5 line cards in my switch.
I also am not sure why the line cards are only in even numbered slots. Can I add an additional line card?
Chassis Type : WS-C4506-E
---------------------------------------------------------------
1 6 Sup 7L-E 10GE (SFP+), 1000BaseX (SFP) WS-X45-SUP7L-E
2 48 10/100/1000BaseT (RJ45)V, Cisco/IEEE WS-X4548-GB-RJ45V
4 48 10/100/1000BaseT (RJ45) WS-X4548-GB-RJ45
6 48 10/100/1000BaseT (RJ45) WS-X4648-RJ45-E

Thanks! Yes, I have the Sup 7L-E supervisor module on my 4506-E.
So I could get another 24 Gbps line card (WS-X4648-RJ45-E).
I *think* the 48Gbps card equivalent is the WS-X4748-RJ45-E but I'm not 100% sure!!
Thanks again! -Bob
