Hi, i need an advice to choose a core switch for my network. Now i have a flat network with some 3750E stacked and some 3750G. 3750E are connected with 10Gb fiber and 3750G with 1Gb Fiber.
After summer i need to buy 2 switches for 2 server rooms (i think that i will buy a refuribished nexus 3k) and implement a simple inter-vlan routing, so i need a L3 switch. I know that i can use the nexus as core switches but i prefer use a dedicated switch for this role.
So the question is, stacked or chassis? an old catalyst 4500 can works? or i can use a stacked 3750E as access/aggregation/core role into one hardware?
thanks

Hi
if your looking for cheap 10GB nexus switch with L3 look at the Cisco Nexus9000 93180YC-EX switch , its very fast stable as has high port density too , support VPC too for HA
that license runs full l3 as another option , we use them there good stable switches
LAN_ENTERPRISE_SERVICES_PKG
If your looking at 45s you could do VSS 2 switches logical 1 chassis fully redundant or just use 1 the same as you said all in one switch but use dual sups , chassis don't fail too often , its all about cost too , stacks are resilient but you want to use power stacking , dual psu power supplies etc for good HA
also you can check this

the vendor advice me to use a nexus c7004 with 10Gb line cards. Can be a good option to put this switches on server rooms and use as core and access for server ? In this case i can use a vpc for HA.
thanks

I would just take 2x 3850 with 1/10G SFP Ports
You should take a closer look to 9300 switches, it will replace 3850, but I don’t have any experience with 9000 series

2/3k euro for each nexus and max 3/4k euro for core switch.
