Hi ,

I have a device , vendor says "Aggregate traffic  using 802.3ad " .In that case on cisco 3560 switch what should be the configuration ? .

Static teaming (802.3ad and  802.1ax are same ) .

Why 802.3ad is called static teaming and 802.1ax (lacp) callled dynamic teaming ? .

How can i conclude whether the device require aggregate teaming ?

Thanks

kp

Not sure what you mean.

802.3ad is LACP and is a dynamic way of creating an etherchannel.

If your device supports LACP then use that on both the device and the switch.

If the device does not support LACP then you need to configure the etherchannel on the switch to be in mode on which forces it to be an etherchannel without using LACP.
