Any suitable DMVPN Hub Router

Hi,

I am planing to propose DMVPN solution to one of my customer through my L2/L3 MPLS. There One Hub site and 500 Spoke sites. I will control bandwidth of all Spoke sites to 2MB (more than enough), and 1G to Hub site. So I think there is no bandwidth concern. For some budget limitation, all Spoke sites will be Cisco-881-SEC-K9.

So please kindly let me know some idea what will be suitable for Hub site.

Hello

For this scenario, personally I would go for one of the Cisco ASR 1000 series aggregation routers for the Hub location. For example the 1001 or 1001-x depending on how many interfaces you require and if there's a need for 10G interfaces.

Thanks a lot Martin Hruby. I will choose ASR 1001-X without 10G. Because Hub site`s upstream MPLS Pre-aggregation router can provide only 1G. Now It is right inside permitted budget plan. :)

I too would lean toward an entry ASR 1K, but the ISR 44xx series, especially the 4451, might be suitable too.
