Archive download over http Pausing

When I have to download IOS updates over http, I find that they always seem to pause. The progress indicators stop and if I don't press a key in my cli session they just stay there. As long as I press a key and monitor the pauses it does eventually complete.

When we have to to do this, we host the updates on a Windows server via IIS. The updates also always seem to take way longer than tftp.

Is there something I can do to tweak/correct this?

An example device is a 2960X running 15.0.2, but I've seen it on all manner of devices.

Thanks in advance!

 - Check the webserver's access_log and error_log or corresponding filenames (or 'tools) of IIS is used; watchout for any errors in there (or other issues). Personally I recommend tftp at all times for this.

I've never used HTTP to push IOS upgrades. I always use TFTP. There is a command to speed up the process with TFTP: ip tftp block 8192
