I understand that the CISCO's recommendation for ARP timeout value is to bring it down to the default CAM timeout of 300 seconds. This is done on the router module under each VLAN interface. However, on the 6513 switch side there is a global default setting of 1200 seconds for ARP Agetime. My question is, should this value also be set to 300 seconds? by issuing the SET ARP Agetime 300 command.

I believe whatever you set on the interface will override the global setting which is used if no other arp timer is set on the interfaces. If you want all your interfaces to change just readjust the global timer .
