How can i have 2 inside interfaces. I  basically wanna use one of the ports as a switch port so i don't have to put a switch/hub.

I do not believe that you can do what you want with a 5510. With a 5505 it does have ports that are switch ports and could be put into a common VLAN. With a 5510 the interfaces are layer 3 interfaces. You could have 2 inside interfaces on the 5510 (you can have 2 interfaces with level 100 for inside and an outside, as shown in your drawing). But the 2 inside interfaces would be on different subnets. I do not believe that there is a way to get an interface on the 5510 to act like a switch port and extend the subnet used on another interface of the 5510.

Thats what I was afarid of. I guess i will put a hub then. thanks

Richard,

Could he be using context and one context in transparent mode?

Thanks for reply.

Regards.

He could possibly configure a second context and configure it for transparent mode. He could put an interface for the separate server into the transparent context. But what would it communicate with? The interface to the outside public network is in the routed context and the interface to the inside network is also in the routed context.
