Can anyone share some useful links on how this works and how to configure it? Do you still need to configure FHRP or does configuring redundancy take care of active/standby relationship between the ASR's?

Are you referring to hardware redundancy like multiple sups in the same chassis?

No. Redundancy configuration between two chassis. This is used to synchronize stateful nat translations and firewall applications. It consists of grouping the monitored interfaces on two chassis. This is the only link I could find: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ios_xe/sec_data_plane/configuration/guide/sec_fwall_stateful_inter-chassis_redundancy_xe.pdf
