Upgraded ASR1002 with asr1000-rommon-155-3r.S1.pkg and asr1000rp1-adventerprisek9.03.16.01a.S.155-3.S1a-ext.bin.
Performed a show rom-monitor 0 to verify that asr1000-rommon-155-3r.S1.pkg was successful.
got "System Bootstrap, Version 15.5(3r)S1, RELEASE SOFTWARE"
Performed a sh ver to verify that asr1000rp1-adventerprisek9.03.16.01a.S.155-3.S1a-ext.bin was successful.
got "Cisco IOS Software, ASR1000 Software (PPC_LINUX_IOSD-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 15.4(3)S1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)"
I have both files above in my running-config (copied to startup-config) within the boot section --> bootflash:/
However, when I performed a reload, the ASR1002 got stuck in ROMMON mode.
When I tried to perform a "reset" in ROMMON mode, see messages that failed SHA-1 hash match and that the ASR1002 is running from "asr-1000-rommon.153-3r.S.pkg".
This was the previous ROM firmware that is not resident on the platform; had deleted it upon successful messages above.
Question: Is there an incompatibility between asr1000-rommon-155-3r.S1.pkg and asr1000rp1-adventerprisek9.03.16.01a.S.155-3.S1a-ext.bin.?

The following pieces of info should be useful in debugging this:
- "show platform" - shows current firmware version for all components ("show rom-monitor 0" only queries the SPA)
- "show bootvar"
- "verify /md5 bootflash:asr1000rp1-adventerprisek9.03.16.01a.S.155-3.S1a-ext.bin" - to check the integrity of the IOS image (checksum should be 5537ab9a8b892925df7e56c70945a84d)
If everything checks out, a capture of the boot process should help further...
One thing I'm a bit puzzled by is that, although the 15.5(3r)S1 ROMmon is not only supported with, but also recommended for all ASR1000 parts, it's not in the download list for RP1 (only RP2):
