ASR9K show inventory on module shows XFP-10G-MM-SR with description Multirate 10GBASE-SR, SMF

I'd appreciate clarification on the output of show inventory from a ASR9K running 5.2.2. It shows that a XFP with the part number XFP-10G-MM-SR is inserted in 0/0/1/0. According to my research this module supports multi-mode fibre & 850nm, however the description in the output says smf.

NAME: "module mau 0/0/1/0", DESCR: "Multirate 10GBASE-SR, SMF"
PID: XFP-10G-MM-SR , VID: V03 , SN: FNS18500ZWC

What should I believe, the description of the product ID?

I think what the description is trying to say is that the module is MM-SR but you can also use single mode fiber with it in addition to MM fiber. So, the part number is for 10Gig Multi-mode short reach (SR), which is what you are looking for. To be sure, you can also double check with your Cisco sales rep or SE
