All,
I would like to enable storm control on our switches, but I'm unclear as to how to baseline for broadcast traffic. I've been running wireshark, but I don't understand what is "normal" for our network. Is there a good document or something that I can review that will give me a step-by-step on how to get a good baseline before enabling storm control?
Thanks!
John

Hello John,
we use 1% on GE ports without any issues.
You could think to use 10% on FE ports and 1% on GE ports.
You just need to allow ARP traffic and DHCP requests unless there are devices sending broadcast user traffic (this is unlikely nowdays multicast is more common)
Hope to help
Giuseppe
