Hello all,
I will be happy for some explanation about BGP ORIGIN attribute. The main question is when it IGP and when INCOMPLETE? As far as I understand it any redistribution will make it INCOMPLETE, and the network command will make it "IGP".
Second question, is how can this be understand from the RFC:
RFC 4271:
a) ORIGIN (Type Code 1):
ORIGIN is a well-known mandatory attribute that defines the origin of the path information. The data octet can assume
the following values:
Value Meaning
0 IGP - Network Layer Reachability Information
is interior to the originating AS
2 INCOMPLETE - Network Layer Reachability
Information learned by some other means
Thanks

Hi,
The origin routes are 3 different types;
0 IGP learned routes
1 EGP learned routes
2 Incomplete routes

Hi,
I know, but EGP is deprecated so I didn't write it.
