Bridging 2 sites over dedicated fibre with Sx300 switches

Will the Sx300 series switches support bridging between 2 sites connected with a fibre link?

  • The fibre link is provided by our ISP (dark fibre lit by ISP)
  • Link is over VLAN10
  • My understanding is the Sx300's will need to be reconfigured from Layer 2 to Layer 3 but I am still unsure whether the Sx300's will support what I am trying to do.
  • Will be wanting to bridge our data and voice VLANs (VLAN 1 and 10 respectively, voice VLAN being moved to another VLAN before connecting fibre link to our current network)

Confirmation the Sx300's will do what we want and any tips, tricks, suggestions will be much appreciated.

Is the provider giving you actual fibre?  Does that model take fibre SFP's?  If so, you just need to get the right SFPs, and simply plug it in.
