C1000-24T-4X-L stacking (Single IP management)

Hi,
I have problem with creating stacking (Single IP management) on the C1000-24T-4X-L switch device.
I used this manual:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst1000/software/releases/15_2_7_e/configuration_guides/stacking/b_1527e_single_ip_management_c1000_cg.html
But it's not worked.
So here is detail:

  1. I have two same switches C1000-24T-4X-L. For comfort let's call first (main) switch as A, and second - B.
  2. On switch A I was configured vlans and connected few device and trunk connection. Switch B without additional configuration.
  3. Switches A and B was connected by SFP+ ports.
  4. On the switches A and B was made next command:
  • enable
  • configure terminal
  • switch 1 hstack-port 1 TenGigabitEthernet1/0/4  (was connected to these ports on both devices)
  • switch 1 hstack-port 2 TenGigabitEthernet1/0/3  (was connected to these ports on both devices)
  • stack-mac persistent timer 7
  • write memory
  • reload

     5. On Switch A I made command (before reload): switch 3 priority 2
     6. After reboot switches I see next information (on the both switches):

show switch hstack-ports

Horizontal stack port status :
Te Ports   Stack Port   Operational Status     Next Reload Status     Media Type
-------   ---------   ----------------   -----------------  -------------
Te1/0/1      NA                   N/W Port             N/W Port                   Fiber
Te1/0/2      NA                   N/W Port             N/W Port                   Fiber
Te1/0/3      2                      Stack Port           Stack Port                 Fiber
Te1/0/4      1                      Stack Port           Stack Port                 Fiber

show switch stack-ports

Switch #    Port 1   Port 2
-------- ------   ------
1               Down    Down

show switch

Switch/Stack Mac Address : 246c.1234.4321
Mac persistency wait time: 7 mins
                                                                           H/W      Current
Switch#    Role        Mac Address         Priority    Version   State
----------------------------------------------------------
*1             Master    246c.1234.4321      15            0          Ready

In the show logging command I don't see any data that bound with stacking (only messages about mismatch vlans, duplicate address 10.0.0.1 on Vlan1 and CONFIG_RESOLVE_FAILURE System config parse from (tftp://255.255.255.255/cisconet.cfg failed).

So switches don't see each other. What problem can be? What I miss? I thought that after reboot switch must see each other automatically?

Hi kopixib663

If you're using 15.2(7)E9, you're probably hitting this bug.

----------
CSCwi79812
Unable to form STACK with C1000 8 port devices when upgrade to 15.2(7)E9
----------

Actually, I had a similar experience recently, and it was resolved after upgrading to 15.2(7)E10.

On Switch A I made command (before reload): switch 3 priority 2

what is the use case here ? how is your stacking cables connected

Do you have 4 switches in the stack ?

show switch hstack-ports  - what is the output before you change switch number and priority ? and reload ?

check some guide lines :
