Hello all;

I have an issue with PoE on 2960LPDL 48p switch stacked with 2960xPDL switch.
Both switches have the same IOS version and i can mage them.

Switch Ports Model SW Version SW Image
------ ----- ----- ---------- ----------
* 1 30 WS-C2960X-24PD-L 15.2(6)E2 C2960X-UNIVERSALK9-M
2 54 WS-C2960X-48LPD-L 15.2(6)E2 C2960X-UNIVERSALK9-M

Switch# Role Mac Address Priority Version State
----------------------------------------------------------
*1 Master 00da.5524.cf00 1 4 Ready
2 Member 247e.1294.0d80 1 4 Ready

PoE device connected to the 24 port switch works OK, but when i connect some poe device to the second switch in stack switch port does not respond at all. I do not see anything in switch log, port is down. The power inline shows that the port is configured as "auto" but power is off.

Gi2/0/5 auto off 0.0 n/a n/a 30.0
Gi2/0/6 auto off 0.0 n/a n/a 30.0

ports are not administratively down, there in no err disabled ports. But PoE works only on the first switch in the stack

Could anyone help with such a issue?

Can you try upgrading the IOS to something more recent?

I have done the upgrade yesterday. The 15.2.6E2 is the latest production software version.

Cool.
Please post the complete output to the command "sh post" and "sh power inline".

Power inline - i have manually disabled ports from 25 to 48 - just for testing purpose!

The poe on the first switch works without any issues - the PoE (802.3af) devices are also connected to ports GI2/0/1-15

2#sh power inline

This has got to be a bug!

it seems that this is a hardware error or controller bug:
when i have connected console to the faulty switch i could see the messages like this (on the ports where i tried to connect poe device):

c 6 11:46:19.660: %ILPOWER-3-CONTROLLER_PORT_ERR: Controller port error, Interface Gi2/0/13: Power given, but Power Cont roller does not report Power Good (PT_SK2_SW12-2)

Raise a TAC Case.
