C4948E

Hello,

my Cisco reseller proposed me Cisco Catalyst 4948E switch with LAN Base option.

I am a bit confused since I do not know the difference between LAN Base, IP Base and enterprise

option. The latter costs much more LAN base.

Does someone could help me find the differences between those 3 options ?

for example can I write Layer 3 ACL with LAN Base ?

thank you very much

Rick

To understand different feature sets i think the following is also a good link, though it is for 3750 switches, but it would help understanding why we have these feature sets and what their basic differences are. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps6406/white_paper_c11-579326_ps10745_Products_White_Paper.html
