Hi,
I have a Catalyst 9200L running software version 16.12.3a
My question is can I upgrade the firmware straight to latest suggested release Bengaluru-17.6.3 or Amsterdam-17.3.5?
Or would I need to install the previous firmware updates first before upgrading to a newer/higher version?

yes you can upgrade directly to 17.X version, we are running in production 17.3.5 and stable for now for while. Cisco suggesting 17.6.3 as Gold, if that is what you intent to go please read the release notes before upgrade from your exiting environment.
Note : if this is stack/single switch running long uptime, reboot before upgrade - we have seen some odd issues with long uptime.
