C9500-32QC 40G QSFP insert/reinsert issue

Hello All,

Description

We have a C9500-32QC using 40G QSFP's connected to a 2 Load balancer (master and slave).

the load balancer requires two 40G connections for High availability.  (fo 1/0/3 and fo1/0/4)

The NIC card in the master load balancer failed. We replace the NIC card in the Master load balncer.

however I only saw traffic being sent from one of the two 40G ports (fo 1/0/3) shows up up on one of the two ports.

Tshoot

I reseat the 40G QSFP on the Load balncer side, same result.

I reseat the 40G QSFP on the Switch side. and now the QSFP is not recognized by the switch at all.

if you do a "show inv"

ports (fo 1/0/3 and fo 1/0/4) no longer shows the QSFP

if you do a "show int status

both ports show  type---> not connected

if you do a "debug"

you will see where the QSFP was uninserted and reinserted.

I am not sure what else to do but restart the switch... and see if a reboot will force 40G QSFP's to be seen by the switch.  which is really a no go in my environment due to that switch having multiple  servers connected.

*other trouble shooting steps*

replace the QSFP's on both the switch and loadbalncer side

replace the fiber cable's

shut no, no shut the ports

default the ports, and rebuild them.

none of these

notes

port security was not enabled so the new mac address from the NIC card shouldn't be the issue

The switch was still running when I pulled the QSFP's and tryed to reinsert them

The QSFPs are made by cisco

Question

Could this be related to CSCvn60882?
