C9606 SVL with Dual Supervisor Engine

Hello Cisco Community,

We got two Cisco Catalyst 9606 chassis, and each of them has two supervisor engines. We're looking to set up Stack Wise Virtual (SVL) between the two chassis.

Each supervisor module got single 10G SFP+ port. How to use both supervisor engine 10G ports to setup SVL when having dual supervisor engines.

What about DAD link?

Appreciate any suggestions and best practices

@marce1000 Thank you for sharing the link. Document suggests to use line cards to form SVL and split accross different line cards.

Any reasons for not using 10G ports SUPs?

  >...Cisco StackWise Virtual can be configured only on one supervisor module per chassis. You must not install two supervisor modules in each chassis used in the Cisco StackWise Virtual solution.

Thank you for pointing out this.

If SUP1 on the chassis 1 fails, will SUP2 become active, or will SUP1 on Chassis 2 take over?

The second sup in each chassis will be in RPR mode. So, when sup 1 on chassis 1 fails, sup 1 on chassis 2 will take over.

@Reza Sharifi Does Second SUP on each chassis adds any benefit here?

I Think use PO SVL between two SW using gig port 100/40 (not port in sup) and use one port for DAD.

I will check to share example how you config it.

Thank you @MHM Cisco World

Looking forward to it
