Can a core dump for router/switch be diagnosed without Cisco TAC?

Hi everyone,

If our team wanted to diagnose a core dump for a router/switch (as performed by "write core"), is it possible to diagnose the file without the aid of Cisco TAC? Is there any special software necessary?

Hi,

You maybe able to figure out somethings from the crash dump but its best to send it to TAC for analysis.

Shouldn't be too difficult if you have access to all the proprietary information Cisco has.  ;)
