Can CAB-SFP-50CM connect a 3560-48TS with a 3560CG-8PC?

I have a WS-C3560-48TS running 12.2(55)SE8 that I'm trying to connect to a WS-C3560CG-8PC-S running 15.0(2)SE4.

When I connect the CAB-SFP-50CM, the switches do not connect.  The interfaces on both sides are set to trunks using dot1q.  Tried using multiple different SFP cables and multiple interfaces on the switch with no success.

Does the CAB-SFP-50CM cable work for connecting these two switches or do they both have to be identical switches?

This cable is not supported in the 3560CG.

You can test by looping one end of the cable into the same 3560-48TS (disable STP first).  On a 3560-48, this will work.
