Can I use "show int tranceiver detail " for check Fiober Optic quality ?

Hi all ,

I have some network issue , I am focusing at fiber optic  butt the contractor don't have any test report

Can I check the fiber optic quality (loss)  by use command  "show int tranceiver detail"   

Is the result of this command can grantee  the cable quality ?

it all depends on the optic, some optic support some dont, it can only give you power levels it will not give any indication what network issues.

what kind of network issue you are facing, ? post more information and what device / IOS / logs ? interface drops ?

Hello,

the command works on DOM (Digital Optical Monitoring) modules only.

If you type:

Switch#show interfaces GigabitEthernet0/2 transceiver detail

and get the result below:

--> Diagnostic Monitoring Data is not available

that means that you have a non-DOM module.
