Hello,
I am considering buying C9500-48Y4C as our new core switch. However, I cannot find the information in the data sheet regarding its network module information. I want to use network module C9500-NM-8X. I don't know if C9500-48Y4C supports this or not.
Thank you,

Hi,
See table-3. That module is not compatible with C9500-48Y4C switch

Thank you Reza for your quick response. Does this mean I have to buy c9500-16x or c9500-40x if I my network only supports 1/10G uplink connections?
Thank you,
John

C9500-48Y4C - This Model it self designed to act as Core Switch in the network, and each port support multi gig capacity.
You do not need any uplink module - you can use standard port to connect to uplink ( personall done few, did not see any issue hee)
until you have any specific concern.

Regarding the 48 ports in the C9500-48Y4C; are they SFP+ and not RJ-45?

Hi,
Yes, that is correct. The c9500-16x and c9500-40x are the only 2 models that support this module. If you can elaborate on what you are trying to accomplish, maybe I can help with a solution.

Thanks Reza. Yes, I would like the make sure the switch can support 1/10G connection upper link without having to upgrade everything to 40G and with QSFP. However, as BB said, if I can simply use those 1/10G ports with regular SFP+ without using the network module at all for uplink connection, that will work for me as well.

That is correct. You can use any other ports.
Good Luck!
